Paddy Power launches iPhone app on Apples app store

Paddy Power's new iPhone app has climbed to the top of the free apps charts on the Irish app store in just two days. The app is a downloadable version of the Paddy Power web app which was launched in June specifically for customers who wish to access www.paddypower.com with an iPhone or iPod touch.

Through the iPhone app, customers can manage their entire online Paddy Power account through the iPhone. This includes opening a new account, depositing and withdrawing. They can bet on the entire range of Paddy Power markets and the app even allows customers to place multiples. It's popularity with iPhone punters has shot it to the top of the charts in Ireland.

"We are delighted that our customers seem to be responding so well to the new iPhone app. We have seen lots of positive customer comments on the app on twitter, facebook and other social media forums. We want all of our customers to have a great mobile experience just as good as they would experience in our shops or on our website. The iPhone since it was introduced now accounts for over 50% of sports betting on the Paddy Power mobile channel," said James Grimes, Product Manager at Paddy Power.

"We have been developing the iPhone app for the past number of months. We have taken customer feedback and worked with our development partners, Mobenga, to deliver what we consider to be the best possible interface for clients. The app was specifically created to cater for our mobile customers in the UK & Ireland, so now these customers can use our products and services when they are on the move. With the football season about to kick off again, this is an excellent opportunity for our customers to get involved in mobile betting and we are looking forward to more clients becoming interested in mobile betting in the future," said Grimes.

"We are developing further technology for android and other emerging mobile handset devices so that all of our www.paddypower.com mobile customers can experience our site and navigate easily from their handsets. We will continue to take advantage of new and emerging technology to deliver the best betting experience for our customers." said Grimes.

"Mobenga has worked closely and diligently with Paddy Power to make sure that all Paddy Power's customers get the best mobile service." Creating an iPhone application distributed via Apple's app store was a logical step in order to position the product within the natural distribution point for iPhone users, and ultimately deliver a better experience to them. Mobenga and Paddy Power will continue on an ambitious road map and develop more services as well as continually respond to customer feedback " Christian Rajter, Mobenga CEO, commented
